What do you like the most about being a part of Edge?
Teaching wonderful students, and being apart of a family at Edge.
Ms. Allison is so excited to return to Edge as a teacher! She began jazz and tap classes at the age of three and joined Edge when it first opened its doors in 2006, taking ballet, hip hop, and lyrical. She then began traveling to NYC to perform in MTI’s educational adaptations of popular musicals. In 8th grade, with the help of her mom, she started the Hainesport Musical Theatre Club for kids who wanted to participate in after school activities other than sports. Her mom went on to run the program for twelve years, and Ms. Allison would always come back to assist her.
After graduating from high school, Ms. Allison went on to receive her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theater from The Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford. While there she studied ballet, tap, jazz and hip hop, as well as voice and acting. She worked with teachers and mentors such as Kevin Grey, Ralph Perkins, Marishka Wierzbicki, Mark Planner, Alan Rust, and Tracey Moore. Since then, Allison has performed all over the country in various regional theaters and theme parks like Dutch Wonderland and Six Flags Great Adventure. She has always had a huge passion for working with kids, and is looking forward to sharing with them her other passion-performing!
